Jamie Oller is new to massage therapy, but not to the health care field. She has been working in the health care field since 2004 with people in all health care settings and thus able to provide a complete and competent massage therapy session focused on helping her clients to heal and move towards a well-rounded and balanced lifestyle.
Ms. Oller graduated from MTTI-Wellspring and then went on to receive her Pediatric Massage Therapy Certification and Infant Massage Certification from the Liddle Kidz Foundation (LKF). She has also received specialized advance pediatric massage training from LKF in working with children who have Autism and ASD.
Her focus is to work with clients in their environment, helping them work together towards a common goal unique to each individual family unit. She strongly believes in the power of touch and its ability to heal. She has spent time traveling both state side and abroad working in various medical settings, bringing a well-rounded and open approach to health care.
During the DNC in 2008 Ms. Oller was a Volunteer Street Medic in Denver, Colorado. There she was part of a team coordinating communication between police and protestors as well as a personal medic for IVAW (Iraq Vets Against War) during their march and letter delivery to President Obama.
After the Louisiana Hurricanes of Sept 2008, she ran a medical clinic with two other volunteers in Dulac, Louisiana. While there she worked with indigenous populations, assisting them with navigating the Red Cross system to get medications refilled, finding counseling, and helping them connect to other local agencies for assistance with cleanup and property replacement.
In 2006-2007 Ms. Oller spent time living and working in the West Bank of Palestine doing volunteer medical work, as well as human rights violation documentation. She worked in a free standing birth clinic, as well as the regional hospital in Jenin, where she volunteered in the high risk Labor and Delivery as well as the NICU.
Why would you like to participate in this outreach event?
“I would like to participate in this outreach event because I feel that it is our obligation to our community, not only locally but globally as health care providers to educate and empower those around us to attain a higher quality of life. I feel that though there are a plethora of volunteer opportunities, the Liddle Kidz Foundation’s work is unique in the fact that it addresses one fundamental need that is grossly ignored: positive touch. While there are countless organizations to send food, money, clothing, medical supplies, religion, and western education, there are few who take the time or effort to empower those they are willing to help. I believe strongly in the ethical and socially responsible approach this type of outreach aims to deliver, leaving something in exchange for everything you get in return when you give yourself.”
There are millions of infants and children worldwide who are struggling to live to their fullest potential. Would you like an opportunity to bring nurturing touch and pediatric massage to orphaned and displaced children around the globe?
Do you wish to share your skills with children who are affected by Cerebral Palsy, AIDS/HIV, landmines, Agent Orange, developmental disabilities, genetic birth defects, mental and emotional trauma?
Just ask yourself . . . can one person make a difference?
Take this moment to make a difference in the life of a child.
Apply now to be part of our next international volunteer team . . .you too, can be a Liddle Kidz Ambassador!
