Jessica is a Certified Infant massage Teacher, Certified Pediatric Massage therapist and Licensed Massage Therapist practicing in whitefish, MT. She is the creator of Whitefish Massage Therapy and has focused her practice on clinical massage therapy, infant massage and pediatric massage. She has a special focus providing massage therapy for children with special healthcare needs. Ms. Cooney’s clinical massage therapy training began in Chicago, Illinois at the Soma Institute - National School of Clinical Massage Therapy. She received her education and certification in infant and pediatric massage with Tina Allen and the Liddle Kidz Foundation.
Ms. Cooney was raised in the Chicago Land area for most of her childhood years. During her youth, her family moved quite frequently. As she says, “I was always the new kid in the class”. The moving turned out to be a blessing. She has lived in Illinois, Arizona, Texas, Colorado, Vermont and now beautiful Montana. The frequent relocation caused Jessica to become a very secure and friendly person, who has no trouble traveling or making new friends.
She credits her family as her inspiration leading her towards a career in massage therapy. Her parents were not afraid to hug and kiss their children, and her grandmother, Peggy, is also a nurturer at heart. Jessica says, “It is hard to leave her (Peggy’s) presence with out receiving a hug or big smooch on the side of your cheek.” Touch by far is one of the key ingredients in raising a healthy child. Ms. Cooney has not only learned this from her personal life, but also by working with children providing massage and healthy touch.
Jessica feels honored to be part of this adventure to Vietnam with the Liddle Kidz Foundation to help the children in the orphanages. It has been her dream to not only travel to Vietnam, but to touch the hearts of children across the globe. She is excited to be with a team of practitioners who have to same goal to spread the power of touch. Jessica believes that healthy touch will one day bring this world together.
