Amanda Brand is a graduate of the Massage Therapy program at the Swedish Institute and has been practicing massage therapy for almost a decade. For the past nine and a half years she has worked in multiple spas, chiropractic offices and privately throughout the metropolitan NYC area.
Amanda returned to the Swedish institute in September of 2005 to study acupuncture under the guidance of Jeffery C. Yuen and has been privately practicing classical acupuncture in New York City since 2008.
As a massage therapist, she has volunteered her services during 9/11 in order to help rejuvenate sore and tired rescue workers. She has also made appearances on the Fine Living Channel and WB11 news to support the spa industry and has been quoted in cosmopolitan magazine.
Her philosophy throughout her practice has been to help others improve their well being through the combination of Eastern and Western modalities.
In recent months she has adopted a new and exciting interest in women studies, focusing her practice of acupuncture on fertility. She has become pre and perinatally certified in massage and is a Certified Infant Massage Teacher (CIMT) via the Liddle Kidz Foundation (LKF).
“It is truly a gift to be able to support women through one of the most inspiring and compelling moments of their lives. Then to be able to continue educating them in regards to their offspring’s development has meant the world to me.”
Why would you like to participate in this outreach event?
“I feel that I am ready to take all the information that I have accumulated over the years and really put it to good use. I love children and my heart goes out to any child that might be craving/starving for anything, especially touch. I make people’s lives better everyday through touch, and its time for me to help these kids, and more importantly the caregivers, realize without safe nurturing touch in a child’s life there is no way he/she can grown up to reach their full potential.”

There are millions of infants and children worldwide who are struggling to live to their fullest potential. Would you like an opportunity to bring nurturing touch and pediatric massage to orphaned and displaced children around the globe?
Do you wish to share your skills with children who are affected by Cerebral Palsy, AIDS/HIV, landmines, Agent Orange, developmental disabilities, genetic birth defects, mental and emotional trauma?
Just ask yourself . . . can one person make a difference?
Take this moment to make a difference in the life of a child.
Apply now to be part of our next international volunteer team . . .you too, can be a Liddle Kidz Ambassador!
